Hinged ventilated facade: mounting types

Hinged ventilated facade (NVF) is a modern and practical solution for building cladding that combines aesthetics,

durability and energy efficiency. An important element of the NPF is the fastening system, which ensures reliable fixation of facing materials to the load-bearing wall.
There are three main types of NVF fasteners:

1. anchor mounting:
• This method is used to attach facing materials to a load-bearing wall made of brick, concrete or stone.
* Anchors are threaded metal rods that expand when driven into a hole, providing a strong attachment.
* Advantages:
◦ Simplicity and reliability
◦ Low cost
* Disadvantages:
◦ Complexity of installation on uneven walls
◦ Possibility of "cold bridges"

2. mounting on brackets:
* This method is used to attach facing materials to a frame that is mounted on a load-bearing wall.
* Brackets are metal elements that are attached to the wall with anchors, and then facing panels are mounted to them.
* Advantages:
◦ Versatility
◦ Ability to align the facade
◦ Reducing the load on the wall
* Disadvantages:
◦ Installation complexity
◦ Increase in the cost of the facade

3. glue attachment:
• This method is used for fixing light facing materials, such as porcelain stoneware or composite panels.
* Glue is applied to the back of the facing panel, after which it is pressed against the wall.
* Advantages:
◦ Easy and fast installation
◦ Invisible fasteners
◦ Aesthetic appearance
* Disadvantages:
◦ Low mounting strength
◦ Can't be used on uneven walls
◦ High cost of some types of glue

The choice of the type of NPF attachment depends on a number of factors:
* Load-bearing wall material:
◦ All three types of fasteners are suitable for brick, concrete and stone walls.
For wooden walls, it is recommended to use bracket fasteners.
For frame walls, it is recommended to use anchor fasteners or glue.
* Type of facing material:
For heavy facing materials (stone, porcelain stoneware), it is recommended to use fasteners on anchors or brackets.
For light facing materials (composite panels, siding), all three types of fasteners can be used.
* Weight of facing material:
The heavier the lining, the stronger the fastener should be.
* Flatness of the wall:
For uneven walls, it is recommended to use bracket fasteners.

* Project budget:
Mounting on anchors is the cheapest option.
Mounting on brackets is more expensive, but more versatile.
Mounting with glue is the most expensive option.
It is important to entrust the installation of illegal armed groups to qualified specialists who will correctly select the type of fastening and perform all work in compliance with the rules and regulations.
