Bathroom of large-format porcelain stoneware

The task

Large-format porcelain stoneware lets you clad a bathroom with big slabs that imitate marble or stone. The covering is moisture-resistant and has few joints, so it is easy to clean.

What was done

• checking the level and preparing the substrate, waterproofing;
• laying out the slabs to the pattern and the position of fixtures;
• 45° cutting, holes for mixers and niches;
• cladding, grouting and handover of the result.

Materials and format

Thin slabs (3 mm) are used for walls and standard thickness for floors, and complex contours are cut with the edges ground. The substrate for a large format must be flat: not more than 2 mm of unevenness per 2 metres.

Stages of work

1. Consultation and measuring: we assess the volume and the substrate and recommend a material.
2. Quote: we fix the cost by format, volume and additional works.
3. Substrate preparation: grinding, waterproofing, levelling, level control.
4. Cutting and installation according to the layout, levelling system.
5. Grouting, cleaning and handover of the result together with you.
