Illuminated staircase in large-format tile

The task

Cladding stairs needs precision: every step differs in size, and the joints and edges must look neat. Lighting emphasises the shape of the stairs and adds safety.

What was done

• measuring the stairs and laying out the slabs for treads and risers;
• 45° cutting and grinding the edges;
• cladding with niches prepared for lighting;
• grouting and final cleaning.

Materials and format

Marble-look porcelain, granite, marble and travertine suit stairs. For exterior stairs, frost resistance and an anti-slip texture are important.

Stages of work

1. Consultation and measuring: we assess the volume and the substrate and recommend a material.
2. Quote: we fix the cost by format, volume and additional works.
3. Substrate preparation: grinding, waterproofing, levelling, level control.
4. Cutting and installation according to the layout, levelling system.
5. Grouting, cleaning and handover of the result together with you.
