• Substrate preparation: the basis of all bases

A large-format slab does not forgive mistakes in surface preparation. Unlike standard tile, where the adhesive can level out unevenness, installing slabs requires pharmacy-level precision.

Geometry: we use the latest-generation laser levels. The permissible deviation of the substrate is no more than 1 mm per 2 linear metres. Any “lens” or bump will cause internal stress in the slab and its subsequent cracking.

Adhesion: surfaces on sites in central Kyiv (Antonovycha and Velyka Vasylkivska streets) often need reinforced preparation. We use quartz primers and dust-removal systems with Festool industrial vacuum cleaners to ensure maximum adhesion of the adhesive to the concrete substrate.

• The magic of chemistry: class S1 and S2 adhesive

For installing large format in new buildings in Kyiv that go through the settling stage, m-STONE uses only highly flexible adhesive mixtures.

Class C2TE S1: ideal for slabs up to 2400×1200 mm on stable substrates.

Class C2TE S2: mandatory for mega-slabs and “underfloor heating” systems. Such an adhesive works as a shock absorber, compensating for thermal expansion and micro-vibrations of the building.

• Tools and the “double application” technique

Installation is carried out only with the Double-Backing technology (applying adhesive both to the slab and to the wall in parallel ridges). This prevents voids. For the work we use:

Vacuum carrying frames: they allow safe manoeuvring of a slab weighing up to 100 kg.

Vibrating suction cups: they remove 100% of the air from under the slab, which is critical for high-load areas (floors in lobbies in Pechersk or terraces in Koncha-Zaspa).
