Granite and marble stairs and entrance areas

The task

The entrance area is the first thing guests see and the place under the heaviest load. Granite withstands intensive use and frost, marble adds luxury to interior stairs.

What was done

• selecting the stone by strength and surface texture;
• cutting the steps and processing the edge (chamfer, rounding);
• cladding landings and entrances with a slope for water drainage;
• anti-slip textures for exterior stairs.

Materials and format

Granite with a flamed or ground texture suits exterior stairs well. The type of edge affects both the look and the safety.

Stages of work

1. Consultation and measuring: we assess the volume and the substrate and recommend a material.
2. Quote: we fix the cost by format, volume and additional works.
3. Substrate preparation: grinding, waterproofing, levelling, level control.
4. Cutting and installation according to the layout, levelling system.
5. Grouting, cleaning and handover of the result together with you.
