Travertine and natural stone floor

The task

Stone on the floor is the warm natural fabric of the interior. Travertine gives a calm light background, marble an expressive pattern, and slabs of different formats can be laid in a “French” pattern.

What was done

• selecting slabs by shade and texture from one batch;
• preparing the substrate and choosing the adhesive for stone;
• layout, laying and grinding the joints;
• a protective compound and care recommendations.

Materials and format

Different types of stone need different care: travertine is porous, marble is sensitive to acids. We give recommendations after the work, and our blog tells more about care.

Stages of work

1. Consultation and measuring: we assess the volume and the substrate and recommend a material.
2. Quote: we fix the cost by format, volume and additional works.
3. Substrate preparation: grinding, waterproofing, levelling, level control.
4. Cutting and installation according to the layout, levelling system.
5. Grouting, cleaning and handover of the result together with you.
