Natural stone cladding of a private house facade

The task

A private house needs a facade that withstands frost, moisture and temperature swings and still looks solid. For this the stone is chosen for frost resistance and weight, and the fixing system for the condition of the walls.

What was done

• measuring the facade and choosing the system: ventilated or wet;
• preparing the substrate and insulating the walls for cladding;
• cutting the stone, cladding the plinth, corners and window reveals;
• installation according to the layout, control of geometry and joints.

Materials and format

For exterior cladding we use limestone, travertine, granite and porcelain stoneware. Limestone and travertine give a warm natural background, granite suits the plinth and areas under heavier load.

Stages of work

1. Consultation and measuring: we assess the volume and the substrate and recommend a material.
2. Quote: we fix the cost by format, volume and additional works.
3. Substrate preparation: grinding, waterproofing, levelling, level control.
4. Cutting and installation according to the layout, levelling system.
5. Grouting, cleaning and handover of the result together with you.
