Large-Format Tile Trends in Kyiv: Formats, Colours and Seamless Interiors

Interior design in Kyiv in 2026 is marked by a move away from the cold, sterile minimalism of past years. ‘Museum’ spaces have been replaced by Biophilic Luxury and Earthbound Serenity. The main goal is to create a home that heals, calms and gives tactile pleasure. In this context, large-format porcelain stoneware has stopped being just a finishing material and has become an architectural element.

1. Giant formats: 160×320 cm as the new standard

If in 2020 a 60×120 cm format seemed large, then in 2026 slabs of 1200×2780 and 1600×3200 mm dominate in premium apartments in Kyiv (Pechersk, Podil).

  • Why is it fashionable? Such slabs let you cover a wall from floor to ceiling without a single horizontal joint. This creates the visual effect of a single piece of rock or a monolithic concrete wall.
  • Where to use them? Living rooms combined with kitchens, master bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. In the Signature residential complex we increasingly install such slabs not only on walls but also use them to clad hidden doors and furniture fronts.

2. The 2026 colour palette: warmth and organic tones

Farewell to cold grey concrete and ‘hospital’ white gloss. In 2026 the colour range has become much deeper and warmer:

  • ‘Soft greige’ and sand: instead of sharp contrasts, soft transitions of beige, sand and ‘cloud’ grey. We call this trend ‘quiet luxury’.
  • Mineral and plant shades: deep emerald (Sage Green), wine (Burgundy), terracotta and muted marine blue. These colours are used as accent walls in bathrooms.
  • Dramatic marble: instead of the familiar Carrara, stones with active, ‘bold’ veining have come into fashion: Verde Guatemala (green), Rosso Levanto (burgundy) and golden Calacatta Oro.

3. Textures and tactility: from gloss to a ‘honed’ finish

In 2026 design is aimed at sensations. People want to touch walls.

  • Honed (satin/burnished): a matt, velvety surface that gives no glare yet seems ‘alive’ and warm to the touch. It dominates the floor coverings of residential complexes on Obolonska Embankment.
  • 3D textures and fluting (Fluted): porcelain stoneware with raised vertical stripes or waves. Such slabs are ideal for finishing a TV area or a bed headboard.
  • Imitation of fabric and leather: modern printers can reproduce not only the pattern but also the texture of linen canvas or soft nubuck leather on the slab surface.

4. Seamlessness and integration into furniture

The 2026 trend is the ‘invisibility’ of joints and the multifunctionality of the material.

  • Monolithic sinks and countertops: M-STONE specialists increasingly make integrated sinks from the same porcelain stoneware as the walls. This creates the effect that the sink has ‘grown’ straight out of the wall.
  • Kitchen islands: slabs 12 and 20 mm thick make it possible to build seamless kitchen islands that fear neither knives nor hot pans.
  • Indoor-Outdoor: the same tile in the living room and on the terrace (for example in penthouses in Sofiivska Borshchahivka or in cottages in Horenychi) visually erases the boundary between the house and the garden.

5. The art of layout: bookmatch and a living pattern

In 2026 we do not just lay tile, we ‘draw’ with it.

  • Bookmatch: joining two or four slabs so that their natural pattern forms a symmetrical ‘butterfly’. This is the central design element in living rooms and main bathrooms.
  • Mixing materials: combining large-format porcelain stoneware with brass inserts, natural wood (oak, walnut) or glass.

How to implement these trends with M-STONE?

2026 technologies call for a special approach. At M-STONE we follow every exhibition in Bologna (Cersaie) and Valencia (Cevisama) to bring the freshest solutions to Kyiv.

  • Design: we help choose the layout at the drawing stage.
  • Purchasing: we cooperate with the best showrooms in Kyiv, where the 2026 novelties are on display.
  • Execution: our craftsmen master the technique of seamless bonding, which cannot be told apart from a natural monolith.
